About the trail
3.3 km loop. Access: Follow the pathway from Carter Cres along the edge of the Manawatu River Estuary to the end of Hartley St. Go through Flagstaff Park turning left onto Seabury Ave. Left again at Nash Pde, taking you back to Carter Cres. Sunset Walkway showcases the internationally recognised and protected Ramsar site in the Manawatū River Estuary. Spot migratory birds, enjoy river views, watch boats and fishing at the Boat Club, or stop for a BBQ picnic at their facilities beside the boa.

Stay and play on a pirate ship or climb the lookout in Flagstaff Reserve and take in the scenery as you link through the parkland. Return along Seabury Ave with several options for take-aways and cafes.
