Greymouth has Great Beer 2

Some beer drinkers are fiercely loyal to their favoured brews so if you like drinking your ale within a truly historic setting, nothing is more appropriate than enjoying some traditional West Coast fare (wild pork comes to mind) with a beer to match at Speight's Alehouse housed in Greymouth's old government building circa 1900s.

The solid brick building evokes that sturdy West Coast character as well as a heft that is necessary to withstand the mighty Grey River which occasionally bursts its banks. At one time, the entire ground floor level of the building was under flood waters.
