Whanganui Vintage Weekend 2018
Whanganui Vintage Weekend is all set for 2018. Come on over to Whanganui this Wellington Anniversary Weekend, to join the fun.
The new Whanganui Vintage Weekend Trust has been working hard behind the scenes to create another vintage extravaganza on Wellington Anniversary Weekend. It promises to be bigger and better than ever. Vintage Weekend 2018 will see the return of the highly successful mainstay events such as The Rivercity Caboodle, the revitalised and renamed Riverside Shindig and The Soapbox Derby as well as a great line up of new events in the programme.
The vintage favourite Wheels on Victoria Avenue Car Show where you can see classic cars, hot-rods, vintage cars and muscle cars will return. The classic cruise is an opportunity to witness over 200 cars travel through two different routes around the city. The team at Vintage Weekend are truly excited about everything Vintage, but every now and then we have the most wonderful surprises and ZK-AWP Powhaitere the first prototype DC-3, the only surviving RNZAF World War II veteran aircraft still in front-line service, is one of those. Don’t forget the Waimarie paddle steamer, or the traction engines both Whanganui institutions.
Music is what it is about don’t look for fancy solos here, but make sure you bring your dancing shoes with you! It is also time to start planning your wardrobe and get ready to enter the Vintage Fashion Show, a chance to parade your glad rags. Whanganui Vintage Weekend is back, bigger and better than ever before.
