STATEMENT FROM ORGANISERS: "Given the ongoing response to the seriousness of the COVID-19 pandemic, the New Zealand Country Music Festival Trust has made the difficult decision to cancel the Tussock Country Music Festival 2020 – this includes all events within the official event guide."
Key events organisations – the Gore Country Music Club, NZ Songwriters Trust, NZ Gold Guitar Committee and the Gore District Council - have formed a New Zealand Country Music Festival Trust in July 2019.
“Forming the New Zealand Country Music Festival Trust is an exciting step in building on what is already happening over the week of Queen's Birthday. Since 1976 Gore has been known as the Capital of Country Music, over 100,000 hours of volunteer time each year goes into running the activities and the latest economic survey completed by Gore District attributes approximately 1 million dollars of return to the district. This is a significant event that Gore residents can be proud of” say Trust Chairperson Jeff Rea.

Book in to stay for the festivities at the Gore A&P Showgrounds (Campgrounds).
The Gore Agricultural & Pastoral Showgrounds is located in Bury St, just off State Highway 1 at the south end of Gore. Here you will find an extremely neat park-like setting on 11.2 hectares of land. The Gore Town & Country Club, Gore Multi-sports Centre, all-weather hockey turf and the town centre are all close by.
