20th Mangawhai Walking Weekend 28-31 March 2019
Welcome to Mangawhai, our magical little town!
The Mangawhai Walking Weekend is celebrating its 20th Anniversary with a festival of events with guided walks over four days exploring our magical Mangawhai community. Select a walk from coastal, bush, rural, history, farm, food, wine, garden, art and eco tours by paddle board or kayaking, even a special doggie walk!
Friday discover music and magic on the Troubadour Trail, a beautiful afternoon ramble around the picturesque Mangawhai estuary.
A weekend highlight is Saturday’s afternoons Food & Wine Festival, time to relax and unwind in the picturesque Olive Grove. Enjoy the late afternoon sun with some great music, dancing, delicious food and award winning wines and craft beers. This is licensed R18 event.
The weather is always fine and sunny in the golden north so come along and visit Mangawhai and check out New Zealand’s oldest and most exciting walking festival. So get your camper buddies together, come and walk with us and explore our magical Mangawhai back yard! Mangawhai has a fabulous Saturday Market so you can pick up delicious treats to stock up the camper before your walk and our stay!
Ticket holders with Self Contained Vehicles are welcome to park in the designated area in the Mangawhai Domain (75 Moir Street, Mangawhai), the walking weekend HQ.
Please note: dogs must be kept on a lead in the motor home area. Dog are permitted on the Doggie Walk only. No dogs permitted into the Food & Wine Festival. The Food & Wine Festival is a short 10 minute walk from Domain.
