Goldfields Cavalcade to Hawea 2019

Join us in Hawea for the 27th Goldfields Cavalcade.

Hawea is located in the Upper Clutha area of Central Otago – and is very excited to be the host town for the 27th Goldfields Cavalcade. The various Cavalcade trails (horse, wagon, cycling, walking and running trails) will start on the 23rd February from different locations in northern Southland, Central Otago and South Canterbury and then converge on Hawea on Saturday, 2nd March 2019.

On that day, up to 500 cavalcaders will arrive at the Hawea Domain for the Grand Parade - which will be followed by a fantastic Market Day with lots of food, festivities and entertainment. In the evening there will be the traditional Cavalcade “Hoedown” - with a sit-down dinner, live entertainment and “toe tapping” dancing to follow.

Tickets should also be available for visitors to the Hoedown dinner and subsequent festivities – but numbers are likely to be limited! Tickets can be purchased on the website (depending on availability). Please keep an eye on the website for updates on the ticketing process.

Visit the Facebook sitewww.facebook.com/cavalcadetohawea2019/ or our website cavalcade.co.nz/  for further information and regular news updates over the coming weeks.

There are many other attractions for those visiting the Hawea area - which is renowned for its spectacular mountain and lake scenery.  Walking, cycling, fishing, boating, ‘adrenaline’ sports and retail therapy opportunities abound!  Wanaka is just 15 km away - and the Wanaka A & P Show is being held the following week, on 8-9th March. So, the Upper Clutha area will be buzzing with activity during this period.
