Yealands Classic Fighters 2019 promises to be out best show yet! In 2019 we’re ‘Saluting Women in Aviation’, recognising a century of significant contributions to the world of aviation, made by women from across the planet. On display both in the air and on the ground will be aircraft from the pioneering era (pre-1914) right through to the 1930’s classics and post WWII modified fighters. Making a highly anticipated return to the spotlight will be the rebuilt Focke-Wulf Fw190 of the Chariots of Fire Fighter Collection.
All your favourite aircraft will be back such as the awesome award winning Rolls-Royce Griffon-powered-Spitfire Mk.XIVe and the world’s sole airworthy Avro Anson Mk.1, immaculately restored by Bill Reid. It just wouldn’t be a Classic Fighter’s Airshow without the Fokkers. The colourful Fokker Tri-plane formation is always a crowd pleaser and Omaka still retains the World Record for the most Fokkers Tri-planes in the sky at the same time!
Yealands Classic Fighters is more than just an air show. As well as over 100 aircraft participating, there will be mock airfield attacks supported by ground theatre and pyrotechnics plus great musical entertainment, fantastic Marlborough wine and food, merchandise stalls, a kid’s fun zone and a grand array of classic cars.
